San Blas Islands, Panama

My favorite place in the whole world thus far; Kuanidup Island, apart of the San Blas islands in The Republic of Panama where I studied abroad my first three semesters of college.

Caribbean Cruise, Spring 2009

I had the time of my life on this cruise; it was my first. :)

Key West, FL

Spring Break of 2010, my trip to Key West, FL. An incredibly gorgeous place.

Graduation, FSU Class of 2011 - Go Noles!

This marked the end of college and my time to explore, but no worries; I'll continue to grow as a person in med school. :)

The Taj Mahal

June, Summer of 2011, was my first summer off since I started (and finished) college. Family trip to India included the Taj Mahal, of course.

IB Done!

I am an IB graduate. HELL YES. I am so proud of myself for working my butt off for these past two years. I have a lot to show for it. :) It has been an overall great experience. Many of the people in IB with me...I can only wish them well and hope they get a clue somewhere down the road.

So my birthday, on the 26th of April, went well. Couldn't celebrate much as I was in the midst of exams. But ya know...I turned 18. That's cool enough on its own.

I'm studying abroad my entire freshman year in Panama at the FSU campus there. Awesome, huh?

I did a promo recording for Bulldog News...something to go on Channel 14. Can't wait to see it. I was promoting IB and SHS. :)

Orientation for FSU is...June 15-18, and India and Singapore are soon after followed by Panama itself! I have to admit, it does make me a little nervous. I know it'll be worth it in the long run though. Just like Girls State and AGS. :)

I'm at Dad's office and...I cannot watch the season finale of Ugly Betty here which, by the way, I missed!! Betty and Gio. I'm all for that. :)

Ciao, people!

Officially a 'Nole

The long college search/matching game is over. I am officially a Florida State Seminole, Class of 2012, and quite possibly...Class of 2011. :)

Noles > Gators

So today was my mom's birthday. Guess where she's at? Some warm beach in Charelston, SC. Uggh. Oh well. She deserved a nice day.

Tomorrow is dad's Cake Day. :)

And as for me, I'm almost done with IB and high school! Only 16 more school days for me. :)

'IB exams...wow, I hope I'll be prepared for those. Studying the best I can. In fact, I should be looking over history right now.

Later, gators. I mean...Noles. ;)

The Icing on the Cake

I think that we, as a whole, get too caught up in the superficial gloss of life. Quite often, I find myself thinking about the future. Where will I go to college? What will I major in? And wait, do I have a minor picked out? What if that's not the best choice? What if I could have done better...? Will I be able to go to med school? It goes on...

While it is important to have some kind of plan, I think I need to just let go...trust that whatever happens will work out.

If you always worry about tomorrow, you will forget to enjoy today.

And while today seems like a bore...while today seems to be just another day...isn't everyday just another..."today"? If you don't settle for "today", you'll just find yourself marking out boxes on the calendar just dreaming about a better tomorrow. A tomorrow that will never come.

So what makes up this happiness that we seek in tomorrow? Is it success? Love? An advancement of ourselves on how others view us? Maybe... Maybe that's what we strive for without even knowing.

But I'd have to say it's the smaller, less significant things that we do everyday that builds our futures. It's taking that extra hour to catch up on your brother's life, it's telling your dad about your daily concerns, it's laughing with your mom about memories from years ago, it's baking brownies with your friend and laughing over silly things.... The others things...what we strive for...those are just the icing on the cake. But how can we enjoy the icing if we have no cake? If we have no foundation?

I think it's time for me to bake a cake. ;)

Hillary Clinton vs. Barack Obama

I want to vote for Ms. Hillary Clinton in 2008. I hope I have that chance.

Unfortunately, this year, of all years, The Democratic Party decided to have two big firsts A woman and well, a black guy. *sigh* The Republicans better not keep their place in the White House due to this split. =/ Hopefully, Clinton will continue to do well in the primaries.

Obama is great, don't get me wrong. When he speaks, however, I just feel like he's stringing together words without value. "Change, change, blah blah..." But Hillary's words, for some reason, hold value for me. I dunno. This is going to be one interesting race...

4 AM Nights

Quite sad really, but my winter break is coming to an abrupt end. I feel rejuvinated and ready to return to the regular old routine. Well, as ready as I'll ever be anyways. *sigh*

On a brighter note, I think.... Only 41 more days until I hear back from UF. :-)

I got a haircut! It looks really nice in my opinion. :)

So that's all for the start of 2008. I have some books I want to get through before break is over.

I'm out. ;)
